Bausch & Lomb\'s ophthalmic product range in India on anvil


Pharmaceutical major Bausch & Lomb is all set to enter into the Indian pharma market with the launch of its ophthalmic range of products in the country. The company will reportedly mark its presence in India by introducing 10 to 12 eye care pharmaceutical products across the country by end of July this year.
Initially the company will be outsourcing the products from Bangalore-based Micro Labs followed by importing products manufactured by the company that are popular in the world. It has a strong product profile in the pharmaceutical section which is well known for treating a wide range of eye conditions including glaucoma, eye allergies, conjunctivitis, dry eye and retinal diseases. They also offer proprietary and generic medicines available by prescription, over-the-counter eye drops and other medications.

Bausch and Lomb is primarily into manufacturing and selling vision care and eye-wear products in India and the pharmaceuticals part of products are not launched in India as yet. Now Bausch & Lomb will be entering the niche eye care pharmaceutical market in India. The company already has a substantial presence in the pharma sector with a strong portfolio.
