Sanofi-Aventis plans to launch reusable insulin
pens in India in the second quarter of 2011. The company will also launch
Combiflam cream in the Indian market in January 2011.
The company as of now sells 1.6 billion tablets of its painkiller Combiflam in India every year.
The company expects the sales growth for Sanofi-Aventis in India to come from rural markets, diabetes products, over-the-counter (OTC) brands and vaccines.
Sanofi-Aventis has launched a low cost drug programme for rural markets in India called 'Prayas.' the programme supplies affordable drugs in rural areas of 11 states in India.
